AN INDEPENDENT BOOKSELLER BRINGING AUTHORS AND CHILDREN TOGETHER

I have been an independent bookseller for over 25 years. Reading has always been a passion and I fell in love with children’s books when my own children were small. Throughout their childhood I ran my book business which has grown over the years as I have been able to devote more time to it. I love to see a child reading a book for pleasure and love the time I spend in schools running book fairs and organising author visits.

Literature Festivals

I am a founder member of Cranbrook Literature Festival, holding our first festival in 2016. Since then we have hosted leading authors including Lisa Jewell, Rev Richard Coles, Ben Miller, Elly Griffiths, Clare Chambers and Christy Lefteri. We are a not-for-profit festival, run by a fabulous team of volunteers. Any ticket sale profits pay for authors to do talks in local schools free of charge.

I am also part of a new festival in Maidstone, county town of Kent. Run in conjunction with Maidstone Borough Council and a range of local sponsors we run events in local schools free of charge. Authors over the past two festivals have included Gyles Brandreth, Gill Hornby, Joseph Coelho, Maggie Brooks and Lucy Strange.
